So im doing the jump from FCP to Premiere. Im not sure that this is the right choice, but since Final Cut Pro turned X and they obviously dont care enough to make Final Cut take more file formats natively.
So since i started shooting with Sony NEX cameras i wanted to edit directly without having to transcode. You have to be careful about the highs and lows in the AVCHD format though (Set the output black and white from 15-235 instead of 0-255)
Andrew Reid wrote a tutorial on how to fix it in premiere (another reason to change to CS6)
